Bandelier's Shuttle Service has not started for the 2025 season.
Visitors may drive directly to the Bandelier Visitor Center, however, please be advised that parking may fill up and you may be turned around and asked to return later. Please call the Bandelier Visitor Center at (505) 672-3861 for more information.
Uber, Lyft, and Other "Taxi" Services
Bandelier is in a remote location, with cell service in the canyon limited to Verizon 4G only. Services like Uber and Lyft will bring you here, but there may be no way to contact a ride out. Please plan your pickup before being dropped off at Bandelier.
The Use of GPS is NOT Recommended
Numerous visitors have been routed to remote trailheads and out-of-the-way roads trying to use GPS to reach the main park area or shuttle stop.

Pass covers all persons traveling in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle (car, truck, camper, or van up to 15 passengers). Auto passes are non-transferable and not replaced if lost or stolen. Entrance passes do not cover camping fees.

Pass covers a single motorcycle and up to two people. Motorcycle passes are non-transferable and not replaced if lost or stolen.
Entrance - Per Person

Pass covers per person entrance fee for those 16 years of age and older traveling on foot or by bicycle, or for individuals traveling together in a 16 passenger or greater vehicle as a non-commercial, organized group. Individual passes are non-transferable and not replaced if lost or stolen.

1. Guided Tour to the Pueblo Loop Trail and Alcove HouseThe Pueblo Loop Trail is 1.4 miles roundtrip and takes visitors to some of the best Ancestral Pueblo sites in the park. Alcove House is an extra mile roundtrip out and back that can be added to the Pueblo Loop Trail and allows visitors to climb 140 feet of ladders and stairs into a site in a natural alcove above Frijoles Canyon. 2. Tsankawi Guided TourTsankawi is located approximately 12 miles from the main section of Bandelier National Monument. The trail is 1.5 miles roundtrip and takes several hours. Ladders are part of this trail and can not be avoided if you want to do the entire loop trail. The trail is very exposed to the elements. Water, sunscreen, and a good hat are highly recommended. 3. Falls Trail TourExplore the unique geology, flora, and fauna of Bandelier as you walk 1.5 miles (one way) to an overlook where you can see Upper Falls, Frijoles Creek, and the Rio Grande. 4. Tyuonyi Overlook Trail With DescriptionsThe Tyuonyi Overlook Trail starts near Juniper Family Campground and travels to the rim of Frijoles Canyon, providing outstanding views. There is no access to Frijoles Canyon from this trail, which is 2.2 miles round trip with minimal elevation change. Water, sunscreen, and a hat are recommended during all seasons. 5. Civilian Conservation Corps District Self Guided TourOne of Bandelier's unique features is the evidence of the many labors of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) which had a camp and worked in Bandelier in the 1930's. This self-guided tour will take you around this historic district and describe some of those unique CCC features. |
