Park Closed Ahead of Inclement Weather

Buck Island Reef National Monument and all associated facilities are closed due to anticipated severe weather that may bring flooding and landslides and dangerous surf. This included all trails and moorings. Please follow instructions from local emergency officials.

Anchoring Permit Not Required

Anchoring is allowed without a permit in the designated location on the west side of Buck Island. Updated permitting procedures will be announced at a later date. Check back for updates.

Buck Island Reef National Monument

  • Buck Island Reef National Monument
  • There is no visitor center at Buck Island. Please visit the bookstore or fee booth at Christiansted National Historic Site. The bookstore is located at the historic Scale House, at the water's edge. The fee booth is located just inside the gate and to the right in Fort Christiansvaern.
