Blue Creek camping area is an off-road vehicle and horseback riding area. It is located on the northwest side of the lake off FM 1913. Blue Creek is surrounded with plush cottonwood and soapberry trees and is a beautiful area during the fall season. The cottonwoods and soapberry trees turn yellow, gold, orange, and red when the temperatures start to drop during the fall.
Blue West campground is located on the top of the caprock and overlooks Lake Meredith. Access to the shoreline is steep and difficult. The campgrounds at Blue West have excellent views of the lake. There are picnic tables and shade shelters available. This are a is a great place to view the sunsets of the Texas Panhandle.
This beautiful area is located near the Bugbee community off FM 3395. Shoreline fishing is popular and there are a number of shoreline birds that visit here throughout the year. There is no drinking water or flush toilets in this area. At Bugbee Canyon, only vault-evaporator toillets are available.
Cedar Canyon Campground lies between Fritch Fortress and Sanford-Yake campgrounds. The area features beach camping with no individual campsites. This campground can become soft during raining conditions. Please drive with caution when leaving paved roads. There are restrooms with potable water and flush toilets in the parking lot.
Chimney Hollow Campground is a remote and primitive area located near Blue West. Tucked in the Blue Creek embankment, this area is protected from prevailing winds. There is no drinking water or flush toilets but vault-evaporator toilets are available. A number of picnic tables are available.
This caprock campground overlooks Lake Meredith on Fritch Fortress Road. It is open for boaters, campers, swimmers, and other approved water activities. There are picnic tables, shade shelters, and grills available. A restroom is available with potable water, showers, and flush toilets. Also available, is pull through parking for your convience.
Harbor Bay campground is located outside of Fritch at the end of Lakeview Drive off Hwy. 136. This area features both designated sites and open meadow camping. Picnic tables, shade shelters, and grills are available. There are only vault-evaporator toilets. No drinking water or flush toilets in the area. This campground is a beautiful area for water activities, hiking, biking, and camping.
McBride Canyon and Mullinaw Creek Campgrounds are located south of the lake off of State Highway 136. There are large cottonwood trees that provide shade and are beautiful during the fall. The Mullinaw Creek area features the expanded Mullinaw Trails System. This trail system is used for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. There are no off road vehicles allowed and no drinking water available. There are no flush toilets and only vault-evaporator toilets. Picnic tables, shade shelters, and grills are available at most of the sites. Horse corrals are located at the Mullinaw Campground. The dirt roads can become impassable after a rainstorm.
Four camping grounds are available in this region of Lake Meredith Recreation Area. These campgrounds are located on the southwest side of the lake off FM 1913. There are large cottonwoods for shade. These cottonwoods turn various colors of red, yellow, orange, and gold during the fall season. This area is a favorite for hiking, horsebackriding, birding, and wildlife viewing. There is no drinking water or flush toilets available. There are only vault-evaporator toilets available. Picnic tables, shade shelters, and grills are available for visitor use.
Rosita Flats is a dispersed camping area along the Canadian River. This campground is one of the park's off-road vechicle areas. Off road vehicle operators must have a state of Texas OFF-Highway decal and wear Department of Transportation approved safety gear.

Walleye are the primary sport fish in the reservoir and maintained through natural reproduction. Meredith Reservoir also has an excellent smallmouth bass population. This fish was caught at the Sanford Yake Fishing Dock. Many fisherman use this area to fish during all four seasons. Bass, Crappie, and Walleye have been caught in and around the fishing dock.
Off-Roading at Lake Meredith National Recreation Area
Whether you call it 4-wheeling or muddin', Lake Meredith has two areas set aside for off-road driving. Rosita Flats and Blue Creek are available for all-terrain vehicle recreation. Riders must stay within the cutbanks of Blue Creek and Rosita and below 3000 ft. elevation. All riders must wear a DOT approved safety helmet and eye protection. What is required? A Texas State ORV decal is required and can be purchased from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Customer Service Center at (512) 389-8917. At no cost, an NPS ORV permit is required when using the off road areas of Blue Creek and Rosita Flats.
