Seven Days Battles Driving TourThis tour traces the Seven Days Battles, fought June 25th–July 1st, 1862. Commander of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia General Robert E. Lee launched attacks against General George McClellan's Army of the Potomac as they shifted from a rail line north of Richmond to a safer base on the James River. The route is just under 30 miles and follows a one-way path along public roads—some with high-speed traffic. Public restrooms are not available except stop #6 has a vault toilet. Drive with care. |
