Taft Family House

Situated in the Mount Auburn district of Cincinnati, this beautifully crafted Greek revival house is famously known for being the birthplace and childhood home of William Howard Taft and his family. It is also part of William Howard Taft National Historic Site since 1969.

  • A large, yellow, two-story home situated on a sloping hill that reveals the lower basement level on the north, east and south sides of the building.

William McKinley Tomb

This large circular, domed mausoleum is the final resting place of William McKinley, the 25th president of the United States. McKinley was born in Niles, Ohio but he called Canton home throughout his adult life. He began his career in this city, met his beloved wife, and ran for the highest office of the nation here. His election in 1896 launched an era of Republican dominance that continued until 1910. McKinley governed during a period of intense American expansionism.

Taft Education Center

  • The Taft Education Center is the park's main visitor center. It is the first building visitors should enter upon arriving to the park. Restrooms are located inside the building along with a water fountain. Visitors will be able to view the park film, arrange for a tour of the Taft home and purchase small items in the park's bookstore. Additionally, special exhibits are available for viewing during various times of the year.

  • Enjoy a ranger-guided tour of the birthplace and home to the nation's 27th President and 10th Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, the home is decorated in Victorian-era style, just as it was during the years that William Howard Taft lived in the house.
