Bartizan

At the end of the South Rim Trail, visitors reach the Bartizan, elevation 9,725ft, along the park's southern boundary.

  • At the top of a small rise, this red dirt view point is surrounded in nearly every direction are red, pink, and orange rock formations.

Cedar Breaks Information Center

Due to construction of the park's new Visitor Contact Station during the 2021 & 2022 seasons, the Point Supreme Overlook will be completely blocked from visitor access. The park has moved visitor services to other areas of the park to address visitor needs during these seasons.

Chessmen Ridge Overlook

Overlooking Chessmen Ridge, this overlook is centrally located on the rim overlooking the Cedar Breaks Amphitheater.

  • The large circular parking lot for this overlook is connected to the main park road via a short connector road. At the parking lot, a paved path to the left leads up a small hill to the overlook and to the right the paved path leads to a dirt trail into the woods where it connects with other trails. The overlook is a small circular paved area surrounded by low stone walls and overlooking pink, red, and orange rock formations below.

Mormon Pioneer National Heritage Area

The Mormon Pioneer National Heritage Area preserves the natural, historical, and cultural heritage legacies and contributions of Mormon settlement in the West. The heritage area accomplishes this through community-led efforts to connect with the past by telling the Mormon pioneer story.

  • This heritage area landscape is distinguished by its rugged terrain, diverse rock features and geology, and unique small communities connected along Highway 89. There is a variety of geological and geographical features, such as rocky terrain, red cliffs, forests, and rivers.The Colorado River (including its tributaries), wind, and rain have physically shaped this region, which helped to create its canyons, arches, and gullies. Also of interest are Native American sites and cliff drawings, highlighting the years before settlement of Mormon Pioneers.

North View Overlook

The northern-most scenic overlook at the national monument, North View is located just inside the north entrance along Highway 143.

  • A large semi-circular parking lot is located just off the road. On the western edge of this parking lot a wide gravel and paved area narrows into a single path leading out to the overlook. At the overlook a circular paved area surrounded by low stone walls overlooks pink, red, and orange rock formations below.

Point Supreme Overlook

Since its establishment in 1933, Point Supreme Overlook has served as the primary scenic viewpoint for visitors to the rim of the Cedar Breaks Amphitheater.

  • Beginning at the small parking lot, a paved walkway extends to the west. There are two small buildings, a restroom and fee booth, on the left side of this walkway. Continuing along the pathed path, a trail splits to the right. Beyond this intersection a small log cabin is located on the right side of the path. The path ends at a wide paved area surrounded by log railings and overlooking pink, red, and orange rock formations below.

Ramparts

At the 2-mile point along the South Rim Trail, hikers reach the Ramparts, elevation 9,952ft.

  • At the top of a small rise, this red dirt view point is surrounded in nearly every direction are red, pink, and orange rock formations.

Spectra Point

  • A semi-level white gravel landing surrounded by a black railing. Beyond the railing in nearly every direction are red, pink, and orange rock formations.

Sunset View Overlook

This small overlook is just a mile north of the Point Supreme Overlook, this area can be accessed by the Sunset Trail or a small roadside parking area.

  • Beginning at the very small parking area, a narrow paved path extends to the west. At the end of the short path, is a paved circular area surrounded by railings and overlooking pink, red, and orange rock formations below.

Cedar Breaks Visitor Center

  • Cedar Breaks Visitor Center
  • The Visitor Center will welcome visitors to Cedar Breaks. Cedar Breaks’ former Information Center located in the 1937 historic cabin will now focus on the area's human history with a self-guided interpretive area. Visitors can speak with a ranger, pay their entrance fee, purchase an interagency park pass, pick up a junior ranger program, visit the park store, and get their passport stamped.
