San Francisco Maritime Museum

- Housed in a Works Progress Administration building originally designed as a bathhouse, the Maritime Museum features exhibits on navigation, naval history, ships and more. The museum is free, and open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm
San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park and Visitor Center

- San Francisco Maritime’s Visitor Center is full of immersive exhibits that tell the stories of voyage, discovery, and cultural diversity of the Bay Area’s maritime history. Park staff and volunteers are available to answer questions and provide information. Watch the park film and visit “The Waterfront” exhibit, an interactive walk through six historical waterfront neighborhoods.
San Francisco Maritime, Hyde Street Pier

- Open daily, 9:30am-5:00pm (last entry 4:30pm) Hyde Street Pier features an outdoor exhibit on naval history as well as several historical ships docked in the harbor including the square-rigger Balclutha, the lumber schooner, C.A. Thayer, the Eureka ferryboat, the steam tug, Hercules, and the scow schooner, Alma.
